An Isabel Dalhousie short story by Alexander McCall Smith. A quick read but it is a thoughtful observation of a few people's lives. Roz McLeod accused Isabel of having and affair with her husband. Having met George McLeod only once for coffee, Isabel feels she must protect her reputation and relive this poor woman's worries.
