Chapter and Curse

The Cambridge Bookshop series, book one by Elizabeth Penney. 2021. The start of an interesting series with Molly Kimball and her mother, Nina moving to Cambridge, England to help run an old bookstore that had been in the family for over four hundred years. A cozy mystery series that will engage all book lovers and Anglophiles.

The Daughters of Cain

The New Inspector Morse Novel by Colin Dexter. 1994

I may have read this before, but I didn't remember it. The Way Through the Woods was the previous Morse novel. It won the Gold Dagger award.  In the television series, Morse, the character was portrayed by John Thaw. I could probably read all the Colin Dexter novels again, they are so well-written.

The Reading List

 By Sara  Nisha Adams. 2019

Read for the Vandalia Library adult book discussion group meeting on the first Thursday at 1:30.

I had trouble getting into the book, the point of view kept changing with the introductions of the characters. Eventually I stopped worrying about who had the reading list, as there were several, and just kept track of the characters who I remembered. I thought it was an engaging book. I liked the introduction to the books on the reading list and the character's reaction to the books. As I had read most of the books on the reading list, this held my interest. I would recommend this book, but not everyone agreed with me.
